Digipower VS Brands

What’s in the Battery?

If you ever wondered inside a camera store in need of a battery, you will come across a thousand brands, from the most popular to the not-so popular. Some are very cheap, some are very good. A lot of people tend to go with what they know, for example, if you have a Canon camera, you would simply buy a Canon battery, but fear no more.

Third-party batteries are and have been out on the market for quite some time, they haven’t gone away and most likely won’t for a long time, why? Because on the contrary of what some maybe think, those batteries you’re afraid of, actually work better than the brand names. Some of those batteries in fact, have become so good that people don’t even see them as third party, but actual high quality branded names. One great example of this is Digipower batteries.

If you were to take a Digipower rechargeable battery package and a Canon package for example, right away you will notice the package differences.

One of the things you will notice about the Digipower packages are that they give you a compatibility chart on the back of the package that lets you know if you’re camera works with that battery or not. This keeps you from going crazy wondering what battery you need to buy. Most manufactures do not offer you this information.

Digipower batteries are almost always longer lasting and more durable than OEM manufacture. Note: (I’m just comparing OEM vs Digipower on this blog for the purpose of informing about battery differences, there’s tons of other manufacturers, but Digipower is one you can trust for reliability, specially on professional shoots).

Back to the subject.

Another huge thing is of course, the price, as a OEM would cost twice sometimes as much as triple the cost of the reliable cost effective Digipower batteries. We’re talking about OEM delivering something like $49.99 when the Digipower battery would go about $24.99-$29.99. That’s $20-$25 dollars of saving that can be used for other great camera gear, such as maybe even an extra set of batteries!

Now that sounds more like it, you mean to tell me I can buy an affordable, high quality battery for my camera and still save enough to buy even more gear? That’s exactly what I’m saying.

To recap, there are several benefits by going with Digipower.
 >Compatibility Information
 >Longer lasting/More Durable
 >Price!

These are just a few of the biggest reasons why, and this is just naming a few.

So the next time you walk into a store in need of batteries, remember all this information.

Knowledge is Digipower. Use it wisely my friends.
